India’s national airline is Air India, and the company offers flights from a number of worldwide destinations, with prices starting at around £540 one way from London to New Delhi, and from New York to New Delhi coming in at around $1,000. British Airways, Virgin Atlantic, Delta Airlines and United Airlines also offer flights to the country. Flights from London to New Delhi take approximately nine hours, though stopovers may increase this time. New York to New Delhi takes around 18 hours. India’s international airports near New Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai and Amritsar offer taxis, coach and bus services into town, and facilities include restaurants, banks, bureau de changes and post offices, amongst other things.
